At the heart of what we do is support - support for our people, our projects, and the communities we serve. If you’re a GIS professional who wants to do meaningful work with the backing of a collaborative, forward‑thinking team, this could be your next move.

We’re looking for a GIS Analyst / Senior GIS Analyst to join us and help unlock the power of spatial data to support smarter decisions across our business.

What you’ll be doing (with our backing)

You’ll play a key role in collecting, analysing and communicating spatial information, working closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and turn data into practical solutions. With strong team support and access to the right tools, you’ll:

  • Collect, manage and analyse geographic and spatial data from a range of sources
  • Develop GIS applications to effectively capture and communicate spatial information
  • Create and maintain spatial databases, datasets and system integrations
  • Perform spatial analysis and modelling to support business and project objectives
  • Work closely with internal teams across digital, construction and maintenance
  • Provide technical support and training to end users
  • Stay up to date with GIS technologies and best practice to drive continuous improvement

Profile

We’re keen to hear from candidates who are early to mid‑career in GIS, with a strong technical foundation and a collaborative mindset.

You’ll likely have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science or a related field
  • At least 2 year’s experience in a GIS role
  • Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS Pro), spatial analysis and 3D data
  • A sound understanding of NZ coordinate systems and projections
  • Experience with ESRI web and mobile applications (Experience Builder, Dashboards, Field Maps, Survey123)
  • Experience working with databases such as SQL
  • Strong communication skills and a keen eye for detail

It’s a bonus if you also bring experience working in infrastructure, construction, or transport environments, along with a familiarity with asset management practices. Exposure to tools such as FME and programming languages like Python or Arcade would also be highly regarded.

Travel

Initial project work will require 2-3 days of travel per month to Picton.
