                                            Methods & Temporary Works Coordinator

 

What is the project?

The Ontario Line South. A six-kilometre tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River). The scope of the Project includes the design, construction, and handover of all tunnels (twin tube of 6 km each), 7 stations (turnkey for: 1 station at grade and 6 underground stations) and civil works.

 

What you will do:

Produce all the necessary drawings and document for the construction team to realize safely and timely what is defined in the design.

Concretely, your tasks will be:

- Establish the efficient and safe methodology to be deployed in constructing the temporary and permanent works. It includes the calculations, technical notes and specifications to support the chosen methods, assessments of risks as per Safety in Design procedure.

- Produce site layouts, fence drawings, site installations, logistic strategy, cranes loading schedule, traffic management drawings in safe & healthy conditions. Define the drainage systems in coordination with Geotechnical Engineer.

- Produce the Support of Excavation drawings in coordination with the Geotechnical Engineer (retaining walls, king posts, nailed walls…).

- Determine the correct and efficient sequence of the works including the excavation sequence.

- Define the formwork and falsework systems, and their cycle, to be used in constructing the permanent works. Liaise with the logistic/plant department to identify what are the tools and materials that are available.

 - Define the construction joints locations, orientations of the starter bars, the locations of the couplers or bars to be unbent on site. This task should be realized by coordination with the Structural Designer and Water proofing Designer.

- Give to the construction team the principles of the works method statements. Review the Work Method Statement when requested.

- Propose innovative methods of construction including off-site fabrication and pre-casting techniques when feasible.

Profil

Your skills: 

- Good experience (more than 5 years) in a similar position and in tunneling projects;

- Fluent in English; 

- Familiar with civil engineering software;

- Team player, humble, entrepreneurial spirit.
