Location – Culham  

Travel – Hybrid (4 days minimum onsite)

The Package Manager - Logistics Engineering is accountable to the JDR Logistic Manager for the provision of industry knowledge and experience, and best practices for planning and coordinating logistics in discrete worksites and in the common areas of the JET worksite, and in compliance with applicable regulatory and legal requirements. The role will support the delivery of logistics operations, tracking movements of items and materials, and ensuring progress across decommissioning worksites. With a strong focus on communication, coordination, and technical problem-solving.

 

Accountabilities:

  •  Act as a consultant providing professional advice and support to the organisation on the application of, and compliance with, legal and client requirements for the on and off-site movement of materials.
  • Act as the JDR Logistics Manager's key advisor on related legislation and statutory compliance issues.
  • Provide advice on Logistics related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to be included in Tier II contracts.
  • Provide advice on industry standard logistics processes and templates to support process development, decision-making and provide clarity on logistics processes and outputs.
  • Provide advice on the organisation and management of progress and coordination meetings with respect to Logistics aspects.
  • Collaborate with worksite team members and other key stakeholders to address logistical needs, resolve challenges, and ensure effective communication.
  • Plan, manage, and coordinate logistics activities across assigned worksites, ensuring alignment with project schedules, milestones, and requirements.
  • Act as the main logistics point of contact at assigned worksites, providing advice and support for inventory management, equipment transfers, and logistics workflows.
  • Design efficient transport routes for materials, equipment, and waste, optimising resources while maintaining safety and compliance standards.
  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and logistics partners to define roles, responsibilities, and timelines, ensuring smooth execution of logistics operations.
  • Provide technical support and advice to logistics teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient execution of worksite logistics tasks.
  • Role may be requested to provide advice and guidance to other client project teams if required.

Profile

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience in logistics, engineering, or a related technical role within industrial or operational environments.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage logistics activities across multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to logistics and decommissioning.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to engage diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and scheduling software.
  • Experience in decommissioning, construction, or other regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with asset management systems, inventory databases, and logistics platforms.
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations and SHE compliance protocols.
  • Certification in IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent qualifications
