Description of the assignment

As a Requirements Manager, you will play a crucial role in the collation, development, documentation and implementation of complex User Requirements, ensuring that they meet the specified needs and requirements of stakeholders. This role requires a strong foundation in stakeholder management and requirements management within an infrastructure project delivery environment. You will be responsible for capturing, analysing, and managing system requirements.

 

This role will be a mixture of office/site based and home working. Applicants must be flexible around project needs.

 

Requirements Elicitation and Analysis:

  • Supporting requirement activities to meet programme priorities.
  • Co-ordinating requirement working groups as required ensuring RoADs are captured and distributed.
  • Analyse and prioritise requirements to ensure clarity, completeness, and feasibility.
  • Working with other technical disciplines (designer engineers and architects), in support of project delivery to capture, understand, and document project and programme requirements.
  • Identify and collaborate with stakeholders.

 

Requirements Management:

  • Develop and manage the User Requirements Document (URD) and relevant database to track changes and ensure the integrity and provenance of the requirements throughout the requirement development lifecycle.
  • Ensure that customer user requirements are met.
  • Provide traceability of key user requirements through the URD.
  • Provide metrics and progress information to support the wider monitoring and reporting of progress as directed.
  • Support to finding agreement to conflicting requirements to ensure alignment with overall objectives.
  • Maintaining configuration control of all requirements documentation and version control of URD and support to change management impacts throughout the project ensuring that alignment between the requirements baselines.
  • Ensure requirements are captured in alignment with mandatory, statutory, and departmental policy.

 

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Foster effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Present and communicate requirements to technical and non-technical audiences in a measured means for review and acceptance.

Profile

Qualifications and experiences required for the Requirements Manager:

Essential

  • SC security clearance, or the ability to obtain in advance of employment.
  • Proven experience in requirements capture, analysis and management within an Infrastructure project delivery environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and best practices in infrastructure requirements management and wider Project Management.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of UK GOV requirements management processes.
  • Knowledge of security, safety and environmental protection regulation and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of security processes and frameworks as they pertain to requirement setting.
  • An understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices and SysML.
  • Experience in the use of Dimensions RM (requirements and acceptance management tool).
