Description of the assignment

We're looking for a motivated Trainee Piling Operative to join our team and learn the specialist skills that keep major projects standing strong.

 

To complement and strengthen our existing site teams, we are looking for candidates who would like to be considered for a two year NVQ Level 2 Piling Assistant. This exciting programme offers on the job training and a nationally recognised qualification.

 

Day to day, you'll work alongside experienced piling operatives & site teams. This is a hands-on role where you'll gain practical experience, industry knowledge, and recognised qualifications.

 

The role is site based across the UK and will require frequent travel and working away from home. Piling Operatives are required to work outside in all weather conditions.

 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities vary from one job to another and are dependent on training given and CSCS competencies, general tasks may include:

  • Have responsibility for own safety and the safety of others on site.
  • Ensure you have the correct PPE.
  • Follow instruction from the site Foreman/Supervisor, Mentors and Training Instructors.
  • Work as directed and only undertake tasks you are trained and competent to do.
  • Assist in the preparation and clean-up of construction sites.
  • Carry out heavy physical tasks.
  • Handle and distribute construction materials.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of vehicles with supplies, equipment and construction materials.
  • Move tools, equipment and construction materials to and from work areas.
  • Excavate, backfill and move and level earth using shovels and rakes.
  • Shovel spoil and other materials.
  • Assemble an dismantle ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades on construction sites.

Profile

What We're Looking For:

- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn

- Good communication and teamwork skills

- A positive attitude and commitment to safety

- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions & travel nationwide

- Full UK driving licence

- Previous work experience within the construction Industry would be an advantage.

- Experience of living and working away home would be desirable but is not essential. 

- Must be willing to learn and be flexible in terms of work and location.

- For Health & Safety reasons and site requirements applicants must be aged 18 years or above.

- Applicants cannot have an existing NVQ piling qualification.
