Description of the assignment

MOSA Niugini, a joint venture between Spiecapag Australia and Menard Oceania, is currently seeking expressions of interest for an expatriate FIFO position on Lihir Island for our project in the New Ireland region of PNG.


This is a great opportunity to take part in a world-class, first-of-a-kind, and highly technical project consisting in securing a benched retaining wall with cabled strength anchors in a geothermally active environment to enable mining operations to continue in the area.

Profile

To be considered for this position, the successful candidate would ideally possess the following skills and attributes:



  • Previous experience with heavy plant and equipment, including drill rigs: Hütte HBR 605, Hütte HBR 610 or similar

  • Ensure that plant and equipment is made available and maintained to enable operations to be carried out for project completion on time and within budget.

  • Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with the requirements of the quality, safety, and environment management systems.

  • Ensure stock and materials management along with warehousing and distribution management.

  • Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity.

  • Ensuring that all personnel have been provided with the required site-specific training trained in roles and responsibilities and are competent to perform duties allocated prior to commencing any work activity.

  • Lead, coordinate and direct workshop activities in accordance with schedules so as to complete the works on time and within budget whilst constantly ensuring that planning, safety, environmental and quality requirements are met.

  • Management of workshops teams to ensure plant and equipment maintenance schedules are actioned effectively


Other Requirements



  • Extensive commitment and understanding of all matters relating to health, safety and environment

  • Previous FIFO experience outside of Australia is ideal

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to safely and efficiently adapt to an ever-changing work environment

  • Able to commit to working away from home

  • Must be able to communicate clearly, follow directions and be proactive in the workplace

  • Be able to work to deadlines

  • Strong people skills and ability to work effectively in a team

  • Positive can-do attitude with leadership and teaching capabilities

  • First Aid qualification preferred

  • Be willing to undergo a Medical and Police Check

  • Willingness to work away from home on a roster basis
