The Director of Human Resources will lead the strategic and operational HR functions of the Freyssinet USA and Canada business units.
This role is essential in supporting the growth and development of its specialized workforce and fostering a high-performance, people-centric culture.
This position will be based in Sterling VA, 20166.
HR Operations:
• This role serves as the Director of Human Resources, providing expert guidance and support on a wide range of employee-related
matters. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with U.S. employment laws, company policies, and employee terms and
conditions. This position advises and supports managers in effectively managing employee attendance and navigating disciplinary
and grievance procedures in accordance with legal and company guidelines.
• The Director of Human Resources collaborates with managers to develop clear job descriptions and person specifications for
recruitment efforts. They also provide support and guidance to managers in coaching and mentoring their team members, and act
as a central point of contact for all employee inquiries related to their employment.
• Responsible for building and maintaining positive working relationships across the organization to ensure the consistent and
effective application of HR policies and the successful resolution of employee relations issues. This role is responsible for issuing
and revising employment agreements as needed.
• Administrative duties include generating monthly, quarterly, and annual HR reports, as well as managing the administration of
probationary periods, 401(k) plans, healthcare benefits, employee investment option, vacation records, training documentation,
timekeeping records, EEO requirements, and all types of leave and absence records.
Talent Acquisition and Recruitment:
• Lead and enhance recruitment strategies to fill key positions with qualified talent, particularly in specialized and hard-to-fill roles.
Manage the Recruitment and Selection process, including job posting design, selection procedure and administration
• Collaborate with senior management to build a pipeline for future talent needs and succession planning.
People Development and Performance Management:
• Facilitate People review and help managers define and implement individual development plans and paths
• Lead performance management processes, regular feedback, and ensure performance appraisals are conducted across all
departments.
• Manage and Develop Freyssinet Academy USA and Canada.
Employee Engagement and Culture:
• Develop and execute initiatives to improve employee engagement, foster an inclusive workplace, and promote well-being.
• Facilitate team building, mentorship, and leadership development programs to support a cohesive and collaborative environment.
HR Compliance and Policy Management:
• Manage mobility, visas, and tax related topic for international workforce.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience
Experience & Skills:
• Solid USA employment law knowledge. Canada employment law knowledge is desirable but not essential.
• Strong background in people development, recruitment, and HR operations, including experience in a leadership role. Experience in
the construction business would be a plus.
• Hands on attitude and facilities of dealing with people at all levels in the organisation.
• Willingness to go on site regularly.
• Strong business partnering experience.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and project management.
