Description of the assignment

The Geotechnical Sub Alliance (GSA) is a key delivery partner within the Sizewell C nuclear new‑build programme on the Suffolk coast. The alliance brings together specialist engineering organisations responsible for preparing the ground for construction—using advanced geotechnical techniques such as piling, diaphragm walling, soil mixing and grouting.

As part of a large, collaborative and high‑performing team, you will play a vital role in enabling a safe, compliant and efficient workforce onboarding process for one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects.

About the role:

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive HR Administrator to support the HR team and site operations at Sizewell C. This role is ideal for an experienced HR Administrator who enjoys working in a fast‑paced, regulated environment and has strong attention to detail. You will provide end‑to‑end HR and recruitment administration support, playing a key role in onboarding, compliance, security vetting, and employee integration.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding Administration

  • Provide recruitment administration support, including coordinating vacancies, interviews, and offers.
  • Liaise with hiring managers, agencies, and candidates throughout the recruitment process.
  • Prepare contracts of employment and offer documentation.
  • Manage pre‑employment checks and onboarding activities.

Security Vetting & Compliance

  • Coordinate security vetting for employees and agency workers, acting as a key point of contact.
  • Verify and review identification and supporting documentation prior to submission.
  • Liaise with third‑party vetting and qualification verification providers.

Right to Work & Immigration

  • Conduct and maintain compliant UK Right to Work checks.
  • Support visa and immigration processes, liaising with overseas group companies, immigration advisors, and the Home Office where required.

HR Administration & Employee Support

  • Act as the first point of contact for new starters, visitors, and agency workers attending site.
  • Support employee integration, including IT access, medical assessments, and inductions.
  • Maintain accurate employee records on HR systems.
  • Manage HR correspondence, inboxes, and general administration.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality and GDPR compliance at all times.

 What We’re Looking For

 Our ideal candidate will have:

  • CIPD Level 3 and/or Proven experience in an HR Administration role, ideally within construction, engineering, or a regulated environment
  • Experience supporting recruitment and onboarding processes
  • Strong administrative and data entry skills
  • Experience of vetting or compliance processes (desirable)
  • Customer-facing experience with a professional and approachable manner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
