Description of the assignment

Position – Senior CE&I Design Engineer 

Location – 3 days on site (Cumbria)

Hybrid working – 3 days in the office, 2 days remote. 1 day per month in Hinton House, Cheshire

Arrangement – Contracted (Inside IR35) or Permanent

Salary – Dependent on experience

BPSS clearance will be required at basic level. Prior clearance will not be transferable.

 

To work as part of the Silos MSSS SEP1&2 CE&I design team:

  • Providing site-based design front line support to the Commissioning teams,
  • Delivering, supporting the delivery of others and checking detailed designs/changes to meet functional and business needs.

The implementation, testing and commissioning of the detailed designs/changes is undertaken by other dedicated site-based teams, hence is outside the scope of this role.

Profile

Essential requirements for a Senior CE&I Design Engineer:

  • Academic Qualification: Minimum - HND
  • Professional Qualification: Minimum - Incorporated Engineer
  • Security Clearance: SC
  • Hours: 37 hours over 4½ days a week
  • Location: Working 3 days a week minimum on the MSSS plant.
  • When not required on plant, to work 3 days week minimum out of a West Cumbria based design office.
  • To attend Hinton House, Warrington, Cheshire approx. 1 day per month.

Experience: Minimum 5 years successfully delivering as a CE&I Senior Design Engineer:

  • Working on external multidiscipline projects,
  • Providing site-based front line design support to a Commissioning team,
  • Delivering, supporting the delivery of others and checking detailed designs/changes,

With a working understanding of the following external Standards for:

  • PES based Control Systems
  • Process Instruments

 

Effective problem solving, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information to other team members/disciplines

Willingness to support early career Engineers

 

Desirable:

Experience: Minimum 7 years successfully delivering as a CE&I Senior Design Engineer:

  • Working on external and/or SL multidiscipline projects,
  • Providing site-based front line design support to a Commissioning team,
  • Delivering, supporting the delivery of others and checking detailed designs/changes,

With a working understanding of the following SL Engineering Standards for:

  • PES based Control Systems
  • Process Instruments
