Sixense Solutions Canada Ltd. ("Sixense") is seeking a Job Cost Controller.
- The Job Cost Controller supports the financial planning, analysis, and reporting functions within Sixense.
- This role contributes to the Company’s strategic and operational decision-making through the preparation of detailed budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, project financial performance analysis, and financial reporting assistance.
- The Job Cost Controller works closely with the Managing Director, the Operations Manager and Project Managers to ensure accurate, timely, and insightful financial information that aligns with the Company’s objectives and project requirements.
- Assist in preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, cost control files, financial and performance dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Conduct variance analysis against budget and forecast to support performance monitoring and decision-making.
- Support the consolidation of monthly and quarterly financial data from various project streams.
- Assist in the preparation of presentations and financial packages for internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in the development of annual budgets and rolling forecasts in collaboration with project managers.
- Track actual performance against budget and update forecasts accordingly.
- Perform scenario modeling and situational analyses to support business planning needs.
- Lead the development and optimization of monitoring solutions, integrating the latest technology and methodologies.
- Works directly with Project Managers to setup project templates
- Collaborate with Project Managers to monitor project budgets, assist in the determination of revenue recognition, and cost tracking.
- Support the financial onboarding and follow-up of new projects, including cash flow projections and risk analyses.
- Assist with the preparation of client invoices and revenue tracking for ongoing contracts.
- Monthly review of all purchase order compliance and receipting function flows
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of financial reporting tools and automation of reporting processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial workflows, accuracy, and transparency.
- Work with internal teams to improve the integration of operational and financial data.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures.
- Support internal audits and maintain accurate documentation of financial records.
- Assist in aligning reporting practices with Vinci Group standards and systems when applicable.
- Participate in meetings with project and management teams to present financial insights and support data-driven decisions.
- Stay informed on financial and industry trends relevant to the business.
- Provide support during year-end closing and coordination with external accountants or auditors as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Diploma/Degree in business with an accounting major preferred
- Excellent understanding and thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and controls
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the construction industry
- Must be able to work directly with project managers, purchasers, and other members of the Operations Team
- Ability to clearly communicate financial information (job variances, budget analysis, etc.)
- Comfort with computer systems and strong excel skills a must
- Detail oriented with great organizational skills
- Previous experience with Oracle is considered an asset
