Description of the assignment

Provide oversight and direction to the HR Coordinator role, ensuring effective execution of HR administrative and operational activities.

Works with Canada Mobility Specialist on recruiting and onboarding international and national positions.
Maintains the work structure by updating Job Requirements and Job Descriptions for all positions.
Maintaining relationships with facility of coop program
Act as a VINCI Foundation sponsor, coordinating volunteer activities, supporting community initiatives, and promoting engagement through internal and social media communications.
Actively grow and promote social responsibility and employee volunteering initiatives across the organization.
Maintains organization staff by establishing a recruiting, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews
Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs
Oversee the Years of Service program, providing direction and support to the HR Coordinator responsible for day‑to‑day administration.
Prepare, update, and administer employment agreements for employee promotions, role changes, and other employment status updates.
Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors
Facilitating training on new software or processes
Work closely with the Western Canada team to deliver accurate and timely monthly HR analytics, while actively supporting broader HR initiatives and special projects across the organization.
Maintains, administers, and is a point of contact for questions for employee benefits programs
Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings
Works with communications to ensure the organization chart is updated accordingly
Conduct internal investigations and resolve workplace issues such as harassment or unfair treatment.
Be involved and help manage labor relations, including collective bargaining process, negotiation meetings, and documentation management
Participate and work with President with union grievances, including step 1 & 2 hearing, and arbitration
Work closely with Payroll to identify wage increases as per the collective agreement
Plan, coordinate, and attend local career fairs and recruitment events as required to support hiring needs
Facilitate and foster lasting relationships with management, employees, and unions to effectively resolve workplace issues
Work with Western Canada HR Director, to develop and implement the companies HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
Develop and monitor overall Human Resources, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization

Profile

University Degree or Diploma with specialization in Human Resource Management is an asset

CPHR designation or actively working toward certification is required.

5+ years of experience in a similar role, including a minimum of 1 year of people leadership experience with direct reports.

Human Resources experience in the construction industry is an asset.

Demonstrated education or experience administering and interpreting union agreements is mandatory.

Strong working knowledge of the Employment Standards Act, Human Rights, and Employment Law

Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources information systems (HRIS) and HR databases.

Broad experience in human resources, including recruitment and onboarding, compensation, employee relations, policy administration, and legal compliance

Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company

Advanced communication (oral and written) skills

Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills

Proficiency in Microsoft office suite

Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a deadline-driven environment.

Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills

 

Salary range is between $105,000-$115,000/annually, depending on qualifications and experiences.
